Fill Your Days with Wonder

From leaping off the dive platform at the Harbour to browsing the eclectic stores on Cuba Street, Wellington attracts visitors from all around the globe with its unique range of activities. Want to see the best of the city all in one go? A day in Wellington can easily be spent hopping on and off the iconic Cable Car. Starting in the CBD at the Lambton Quay Terminal, you can browse the ‘Golden Mile’ shopping strip filled with stores ranging from designer labels to local artist galleries. Once you’re ready to begin your journey through the city, board the cable car symbolised by the Rainbow Mural at the beginning of the famous route. On your journey, you’ll pass the Cable Car Transition Mural at Clifton Station, depicting the development of the car from the 1900s to today. Talavera Station is the best spot for photographers to hop off and capture moments as two cars cross each other's tracks before hopping back on and continuing your journey. Next, at Salamanca Station, passengers often disembark to stroll Kelburn Park and view the dramatic spray of the fountain. Finally, at Kelburn Station, wander through the lush gardens at the Wellington Garden, and discover history at the Cable Car Museum
