Serving up fresh fruit and veg, local cheeses, preserves and baked goods, Auckland’s many produce markets are the perfect morning stop off on any weekend shopping adventure.

For the thrifty-minded, Auckland also hosts plenty of arts, craft and vintage markets filled with handmade local wares and hidden gems – perfect for that hard to find gift or a handmade memento of your trip.

Here are five Auckland markets you’ll want to visit during your stay:

La Cigale French Market

Did someone say croissant? If you’re a fan of delicious French cheese, pastries and baguettes, make sure you stop by La Cigale for a Sunday morning treat.

Auckland Night Markets

With multiple locations in Auckland, live music and a large variety of food, fashion and craft stalls, the Auckland Night Markets are a great night out for the whole family.

City Farmers’ Market

If you’re after farm-fresh produce in the heart of the city, look no further than this Auckland market staple. Get in early for your pick of the fruit and veg, grab a coffee and browse the homemade artisan goods – Saturday sorted!

Oratia Farmers’ Market

Heading out of the city for the day? Nestled in the foothills of the Waitakere Ranges, the Oratia Farmers’ Market is well worth a visit. Grab some tasty treats for your drive at the gourmet food stalls, enjoy some live music and head over to the neighbouring Artisan Wines Vineyard for a well-deserved lunch.

Matakana Vintage Market/Sunday Sessions

Located in the beautiful Matakana Village, the Sunday Sessions Vintage Market is the perfect stop-off for lovers of all things vintage. Browse the selection of vintage clothing, homewares and gifts and enjoy the free live music.
