The domain of head chef Juliearna Kavanagh has a sterling reputation for exciting cuisine, and after one meal here, you’ll know why. Try a serve of a local speciality - Marlborough Green Lip Mussels, or the Trio of New Zealand lamb to experience some of the best the area has to offer.
Seumus’ Irish Bar and Restaurant
Seumus’ Irish Bar and Restaurant has a rollicking beer garden, and does scrumptious pub meals along with an extensive offering of drinks from local brewers and the Emerald Isle. Live Music is a feature here, so you can expect to discover some great music from a local band or solo artist here.
The Jolly Roger
On the banks of Waikawa Bay, this cheerful pub with a great sense of humour is just the place for seafood and other great meals. Their extensive kids menu makes this a family friendly place any time of the day, and the friendly ambience can’t be beat.
Gusto
As the name suggests, this café provides the kind of tasty meals that will make you tuck in with enthusiasm. With a fantastic staff of baristas, you can expect a fantastic cup of coffee here. Their breakfasts are legendary and the cake cabinet is always worth a look.
Picton Village Bakkerij
This Dutch style bakery has a wide selection of baked goods on offer both sweet and savoury. Their sweet chilli chicken and cheese pie is a taste sensation, and try some of the traditional Dutch biscuits and pastries on offer while you’re here too. This is a great place to stock up for your meals on the road as well.
Café Cortado
This waterfront café is known for its seafood, but the delicious products of its pizza oven are firm favourites of locals too. A South American influenced menu brings lots of flavour and variety, and the wine cellar is well stocked as well.
