They don’t call this the “Bay of Plenty” for nothing – there’s so many great places to eat here you can’t go wrong. Here are some of our favourite haunts.

Nautilus

This waterfront buffet restaurant manages to achieve both quality and quantity in its sumptuous banquet offerings. With beautiful views over the water and a great selection of delicious things to try you’ll be glad you chose to dine here.

Imbibe

This family friendly eatery has a rotating menu with a daily special at a price that will please budget-conscious travellers. On Sundays you can get a full roast dinner for $12, or treat yourself to the Tuesday two-for-one stone grill.

The Pizza Library Co

Not your everyday restaurant, The Pizza Library Co features top hat-wearing waitresses, eccentric décor, live music and roving magicians. There’s old cinema and coach seats to perch in, and all the pizzas are named after books. Right next door is the Vaudeville bar where you can see some fantastic performances and enjoy a teapot cocktail.

Mills Reef Winery

This art deco style restaurant offers fine dining, and of course, expert wine matching with award-winning cuisine. The beautiful grounds are a pleasure to explore and there’s plenty of room for the kids to have a run around. They have a great brunch menu so if you’d like to start your day with some finesse, make sure you head here.

Somerset College

This is a restaurant, cooking school and food store all in one. You can join one of their fun classes and then feast on the fruits of your labours here, or if you’d rather enjoy the work of the experts instead then make a booking at their well-regarded restaurant.
